Dentons Continues to Grow UK Corporate Practice With Recruitment of Jonathan Cantor

Dentons continues to build out its Corporate practice in the UK with the hire of partner Jonathan Cantor. Jonathan is to join the Firm in London from Nabarro, where he has been a partner since 2007.

Jonathan specialises in real estate indirect investment and funds. His work spans the corporate real estate sector, including office developments, retail, hotels, infrastructure, logistics and healthcare. He has significant experience advising on complex domestic and international corporate real estate acquisitions, fund investments and joint ventures, involving real estate holding vehicles such as Jersey Property Unit Trusts (JPUTs), English limited partnerships (ELPs) and limited liability partnerships (LLPs).

Jonathan has advised both UK and international clients, including a number of large institutional and private equity investors as well as sovereign wealth funds, property companies and fund managers on multi-jurisdictional deals, co-investment structures and associated management arrangements.

David Collins, Dentons’ UK Head of Corporate and co-chair of the Firm’s Global M&A Group, commented, “Jonathan’s experience in working on complex cross-border corporate transactions across the real estate sector will further enhance our Corporate capabilities in the UK. His arrival will boost our long-term sector strategy for the real estate sector and for the strategic growth of our Corporate practice, and we are very much looking forward to working with him.”

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons’ UKMEA Chief Executive Officer, added, “We have made no secret of our desire to expand our Corporate practice in the UK. We have made several key lateral hires over the last few months, and Jonathan’s arrival builds on this momentum as we continue to strengthen our Corporate platform and brand in the market and take advantage of new opportunities for multi-jurisdictional M&A and investment arising from the Firm’s international expansion.”

Jonathan Cantor is the fifth lateral hire Dentons has made into its UK Corporate practice recently. His arrival follows the hires of partners David Collins, Stephen Levy, Martin Mankabady and Nikolas Colbridge, all of whom have joined the Firm since September 2015.
