Dentons Enhances Banking and Finance Team in London with Fourth Partner Hire in 2019

Dentons has strengthened its UK Banking and Finance team with the hire of restructuring and insolvency partner Richard Pallot-Cook in London. He re-joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he has been a partner since 2013 having previously been a partner at Dentons.

Richard specialises in the transactional aspects of international and UK financial restructurings and insolvencies. He has extensive experience acting for funders, investors, security trustees, debtors and insolvency practitioners on a wide range of distressed situations in the UK, Europe and emerging markets. He also has a practice dealing with the financing of vehicle fleets.

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons’ CEO for the UK and Middle East, said, “We are delighted to welcome Richard back to Dentons. His arrival significantly strengthens our restructuring and insolvency capabilities in the UK at a time where we are witnessing increased stress across a number of sectors as a result of an uncertain macro-economic and geopolitical environment.”

Paul Holland, head of Dentons’ UK Banking and Finance practice, said, “It’s great to have Richard back in the team. His expertise with UK and international financial markets will allow us to serve our clients better during these uncertain times for the sector. As our fourth partner hire this year, we’re delighted with the continued growth of our Banking and Finance team in London.”

Richard’s addition follows the London hires of bank lending and acquisition finance partner Simon Middleton, and derivatives partners Yusuf Battiwala and Luke Whitmore, so far this year. Over the past few years, Dentons has also strengthened its UK securitisation and structured finance capabilities with the hire of partners Ed Hickman, Peter Voisey and Martin Sharkey, as well as grown its debt capital markets expertise with the addition of partners Nik Colbridge, Cameron Half and Nick Hayday. The Firm has also enhanced its corporate trustee capabilities with the recruitment of partner Kitty Lloyd.
