Dentons Recruits Leading Real Estate Partner in London

Dentons is pleased to announce that partner Deepa Deb is to join the Firm’s Real Estate team in London. Deepa will join from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) where she has been a partner since 2012.

Deepa’s practice includes significant transactional work and she has built a strong network of clients who are active across the UK and Europe. She also has particular experience working with Indian businesses seeking overseas expansion.

Deepa’s clients operate in the higher end of the investment and development market, which complements Dentons’ growing reputation of advising on large and ever more complex transactions for both domestic and international clients, especially private equity and family office clients based in the UK and overseas.

As a development specialist, Deepa has advised both national and international developers on residential-led mixed-use schemes in London. She also has considerable experience in the “alternatives” sector (student, build to rent and retirement living) and this part of her practice will complement and increase the work that Dentons is already doing. At BCLP she also headed up the residential team, where she leads on high-end residential matters for ultra-high net worth clients.

Dentons Sector Head for Real Estate for the UK and Middle East, Rob Thompson, said, “We are delighted that Deepa will be coming on board. Over the last few years Dentons has become one of the go-to Real Estate teams for investment, development and regeneration and hotel transactions and she is joining us at an exciting period of growth. With her considerable expertise and pedigree, Deepa will significantly enhance our capability to advise clients across all these areas.”

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons CEO for the UK and Middle East, added, “We have been building our Real Estate practice in the UK both organically and with several lateral hires over the last couple of years, including the team of five partners who joined us from Irwin Mitchell in late 2016 and the further enhancement with the addition of the former Maclay Murray & Spens real estate practice. Our reputation in the market continues to grow and clients choose us for our deep knowledge of the global and national real estate markets and industry.”
