Pillsbury today announced the addition of Tina Blázquez-López as counsel in the Finance practice. Blázquez-López will be based in the firm’s London office, and she joins from McCarthy Tétrault. Her practice focuses on international banking and finance, project finance and acquisitions with a concentration on the energy and infrastructure sectors and emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East and throughout Europe.
“Tina is a noted figure in the project finance landscape, and her international experience in the financing and development of energy-industry projects will be of great benefit to clients operating in that sector,” said Finance practice leader Jonathan Whitney. “We are very pleased to welcome her to the firm.”
In her project finance-focused practice, Blázquez-López has counseled lenders, sponsors and equity investors on the acquisition, development and funding of energy and infrastructure ventures throughout the world, several of which have been named “Deal of the Year” by leading industry publications. As part of her work in emerging markets, Blázquez-López also has advised on transactions involving export credit agencies and development institutions.

Blázquez-López earned her undergraduate degree at Cambridge University, Magdalene College, and a law degree from Nottingham Law School. She is fluent in Spanish and has been recognized as a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters. She is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
