International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced today the addition of partner Jack Thorne and associate Alison Morris to its Dispute Resolution practice in London. As the demand for sophisticated, international dispute resolution advice continues to increase, their appointment will provide a further boost to the Firm’s successful London team that includes litigation partner Andrew Savage, corporate crime and investigations partner Simon Airey and arbitration partner Michael Darowski. Both join from the London office of Paul Hastings.
‘Jack’s experience and skillset will prove invaluable for achieving favorable outcomes for our clients. His expertise in disputes arising out of corporate and financial transactions complements our transactions practice and provides great synergies with our existing capabilities. Importantly, he brings expertise in class action, anti-trust, public procurement and data breach disputes, all of which we believe to be growth areas’, said Andrew Savage, head of McDermott’s Dispute Resolution Practice.
Jack advises on complex litigation at all levels of the English civil court system. He also has experience handling significant cases before various arbitral tribunals, including the London Court of International Arbitration, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. He advises across many sectors and industries, including banking and finance, private equity, telecoms, media and entertainment, energy, insurance and sports.
Alison’s practice encapsulates a broad range of contentious matters but primarily focuses on multi-disciplinary, cross-jurisdictional contractual and tortious disputes between major corporates.
Our London Dispute Resolution practice has grown and broadened substantially over the last three years and we are thrilled to welcome Jack and Alison to this high-performing team,’ said Hamid Yunis, Managing Partner of McDermott’s London office. ‘As we strive to anticipate our clients’ litigation needs, we are confident that Jack and Alison’s collective experience will further enhance and broaden the team’s expertise, particularly in the areas of corporate, data protection, class action and anti-trust litigation, bringing significant benefits to our offering.’
These appointments follow the recent additions of partners Joel Haims in New York and Jonathan (Jon) Henry in Washington, DC into the Firm’s growing Dispute Resolution team.
