Global law firm Goodwin announced today that capital markets partner Ariel White-Tsimikalis will join the firm’s London Technology and Life Sciences practices, which represents leading companies and investors in the United Kingdom and Europe. White-Tsimikalis joins the firm from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
White-Tsimikalis specializes in advising investment banks, corporations and private equity funds on equity capital markets transactions (including IPOs and secondary offerings) and general public company representation. As an ESG specialist she regularly advises listed companies on their ESG obligations, with a particular focus on governance matters. She currently serves as a Committee Member of the Women Lawyers Division of the Law Society of England & Wales, was recently elected to the Council of the Law Society of England & Wales and is ranked in both the Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK.
“As Goodwin continues to be the destination law firm for emerging companies, public companies and investors, we are focused on providing full life cycle support for clients in the UK, Europe and globally,” said David Mardle, partner in Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences practices. “Ariel’s first-class equity capital markets experience will be an integral part of both our service offering to our portfolio of emerging growth clients as well as further growing our strong global relationships with leading financial institutions. We are delighted that she will be joining us.”
“With technology and life science listings predicted to be the dominant driver of UK IPO activity in the coming years, having a strong team with the requisite set of capabilities to handle this work in the UK, as well as the US, is a priority for us,” said Ken Gordon, co-chair of Goodwin’s Technology practice. “Ariel is an exceptional capital markets lawyer and her addition will further bolster our global platform.”
White-Tsimikalis’ appointment follows a period of sustained growth across Goodwin’s technology and life sciences offering in Europe. The recent promotion of Elizabeth Rhodes to partner in Cambridge brings the partner headcount of the UK team to ten, working alongside 30 associates, whilst the firm recently added intellectual property partner Marie Fillon to the Paris technology and life sciences group to work alongside partners Anne-Charlotte Rivière, Thomas Dupont-Sentilles and Benjamin Garçon.
With over 100 capital markets lawyers globally, Goodwin represents global investment banks, domestic and foreign issuers, and large institutional investors in a variety of transactions. The firm’s Capital Markets practice was ranked in Chambers Global 2021, which also recognized Goodwin’s status as the law firm at the intersection of capital and innovation around the world. Bloomberg named Goodwin as a top three legal advisor (by deal count) for US equity offerings in 2020.
