International legal and professional services firm Ince has today announced the lateral hire of Eric Eyo as Partner to its world-leading shipping team. Having joined from Campbell Johnston Clark where he has practiced since 2013 Mr Eyo’s previous roles had seen him gain experience at Eversheds LLP, and Clifford Chance LLP.
During his legal career, Mr Eyo has been involved in a number of significant shipping disputes. He has particular expertise in handling disputes in relation to the full spectrum of shipping contracts including charterparties, contracts of affreightment, bills of lading, letters of indemnity, bank guarantees, MOAs, shipbuilding agreements and general agency agreements.
Ince’s maritime division in London was further strengthened earlier this year with the arrival of ten fee earners from specialist shipping law firm Bentleys, Stokes and Lowless, global shipping expert Julian Clark as Global Senior Partner, Stuart McAlpine joining as Global Head of Marine Projects, previously a Partner with Clyde & Co, as well as new Partner and master mariner Martin Dalby to further strengthen the firms wet shipping capabilities. Incisive Law LLC, the Singapore member of the Ince Group, also added two mariners to its team in Singapore – Binoy Dubey and James Ng – growing Ince’s worldwide mariner team to one of the largest mariner teams within the legal sector.
Commenting on the appointment, Adrian Biles, Chief Executive of The Ince Group said:
“Over the course of this year, we have continued to invest in the quality of our offering to clients by strengthening what were already market-leading teams. Bringing Eric into our leading maritime division is proof of that, whilst both his knowledge and experience in the sector will enable our clients to receive the very best legal advice.”
Julian Clark, Global Senior Partner of Ince, commented on the hire:
“Someone of Eric’s ability and experience is a huge benefit to our team that continues to go from strength to strength. Our ability to consistently offer our clients the best legal and professional advice is our absolute priority and bringing Eric onboard reflects that ambition.”
Speaking on his new role, Eric Eyo stated:
“Ince’s reputation in the maritime and shipping sector is revered and I am looking forward to using my experience in assisting Ince’s clients and helping the team continue to provide the highest level of service to its international client base.”
