Michael Burdon, intellectual property (IP) partner and head of Olswang’s European patent litigation team is to join the London office of international law firm Simmons & Simmons as partner from 02 May 2017*.
Michael advises a diverse range of businesses on maximising the protection, enforcement and extraction of value from their IP rights. His principal area of expertise is patents especially multijurisdictional disputes.
He is a widely acknowledged expert in the patent area and has represented clients in numerous reported cases, in a diverse range of technologies from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices through to electronics, software and communications.
Simmons & Simmons has been at the forefront of IP law and practice for more than 35 years, with over 70 lawyers in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The team advises clients, predominantly in the life sciences and TMT sectors, on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious issues from multi-jurisdictional patent litigation to copyright, privacy and corporate transactions.
Michael’s arrival will be a significant boost for the firm’s IP offering both in London and internationally.
