King & Spalding’s London office has added experienced real estate partner David Cox to its ranks. Cox, who joins the firm’s Corporate, Finance & Investments (CFI) practice, was previously a partner at White & Case in London.
Cox represents clients on real estate and real estate financing matters, including non-performing portfolio loan acquisitions, restructurings, senior loan originations, syndications, joint ventures, investment acquisitions and disposals. He has a strong focus on private equity and has advised clients on numerous cross-border transactions.
“David has impressive, in-depth experience of representing investors, funds and other institutions in complex, large-scale transactions so he represents a valuable new resource for the firm,” said Todd Holleman, head of the firm’s CFI practice. “His ability and portfolio of headline deals – covering acquisitions, financings and joint ventures to transactions involving private equity, REITS and loan portfolios around the world – is also very exciting for linking-up with our real estate teams in Europe, the US and internationally.”
Cox has been a partner at White & Case in London for the past 15 years, serving as head of real estate and real estate finance in London for several years. Prior to joining White & Case in 2003, Cox was at Tite & Lewis (a firm affiliated with Ernst & Young) and prior to that, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
“David is another welcome addition to the London office and continues our strategy of expanding our footprint,” said Tom Sprange QC, office managing partner in London. “We have welcomed quality recruits in practices such as investigations and M&A already in recent months so enhancing our real estate expertise continues that momentum.”
