Latham & Watkins To Add Two High Profile Partners in London

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Brendan Moylan and Conrad Andersen will join the London office as partners in the Corporate and Finance Departments, respectively. Widely recognized as leaders in their field, Moylan and Andersen focus on advising infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and pension plans on a variety of complex domestic and international infrastructure transactions.

“We see a strategic opportunity to establish a top-tier infrastructure practice in London and Europe to complement our existing infrastructure M&A, finance, and project finance practices in the US, Asia, and the Middle East,” said Jay Sadanandan, Latham & Watkins’ Office Managing Partner in London. “Brendan and Conrad have developed extremely successful and high-end practices, and they are among a small group of practitioners operating at the very top of the market. Their arrival will add significant weight to our capability in Europe and globally.”

Moylan and Andersen advise clients across the lifecycle of infrastructure assets, from acquisition and financing to refinancing and disposal. Moylan’s practice focuses on advising specialist infrastructure investors on domestic and cross border M&A, joint ventures, and divestments in the UK and across Europe in core and core+ infrastructure. Andersen specializes in all aspects of infrastructure and energy financings and acquisitions.

“The financial sponsor infrastructure market is highly complementary to our existing private equity expertise,” said David Walker, Global Co-chair of Latham’s Corporate Department. “With infrastructure funds and traditional private equity sponsors both increasingly looking to invest in all forms of infrastructure assets, Brendan and Conrad’s arrival presents a unique opportunity for us to further expand our leading practice with two of the market’s leading lights. Their substantial expertise and relationships knit well with our preeminent private equity and leveraged finance practices in Europe and around the world, and their arrival will broaden and deepen our coverage in this dynamic, global sector.”

“We are delighted to add Brendan and Conrad to the practice. They are leaders in their respective fields, with well-deserved reputations for their outstanding technical skills, sophisticated knowledge, and pragmatic advice,” said Scott Gottdiener, Chair of Latham’s global Finance Department. “Both bring tremendous front-line experience advising on a number of big-ticket, innovative transactions in the UK and Europe, and they will help us expand our market-leading position in infrastructure finance and M&A, which continue to be among our core strengths around the world.”

Moylan and Andersen will join Latham & Watkins from Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy, respectively. Moylan received bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Sydney, and is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales. Andersen received an LLB from University of Wales, Cardiff and an LLM from the University of London.
