Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of Nathan Willmott as a partner in the London dispute resolution practice. Nathan joins from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner where he is European Leader for Litigation & Investigations and co-head of Banking Sector.
Nathan specialises in conducting internal investigations, managing regulatory issues, defending PRA, FCA and cross-border enforcement proceedings and handling related litigation. Nathan is recognised and ranked as one of the UK’s leading contentious regulatory practitioners. His clients include investment and retail banks, insurers and insurance intermediaries, asset managers, broker dealers, commodity trading firms, and Full List and AIM listed companies. He joined BCLP in 2007 from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
“Nathan has an outstanding profile and is widely recognised in the market for being one of the leading contentious regulatory lawyers in the City,” Tom Connor, EMEA Head of Dispute Resolution said. “We are delighted that he is joining Ashurst.”
Tom added that Nathan’s hire reflects the firm’s broader focus on the financial services sector and the continuing growth of its global dispute resolution capability. “The arrival of Nathan, which follows the recent appointments of partners Etay Katz in London, Florian Drinhausen in Frankfurt and Nicholas Mavrakis in Sydney, is consistent with our sustained focus on investing in our banking capabilities. Nathan will be a great asset to the firm and we look forward to welcoming him to Ashurst.”
Nathan commented, “I am excited to be joining a firm with such deep and broad relationships in the banking sector across its global network, and really look forward to being part of Ashurst’s highly impressive dispute resolution team.”
