Mayer Brown announced today that Dasha Sobornova has joined the firm’s Banking & Finance practice in London as a partner. Her appointment enhances the firm’s structured finance team and builds on its collateralised loan obligation (CLO) offering in London. Dasha was previously at Paul Hastings.
While at Paul Hastings, Dasha advised arrangers, investment managers, issuers and corporate service providers on a range of structured finance work, with a particular focus on CLO transactions.
“Finance is one of our signature strengths and expanding our capabilities in London has been a top priority for the firm,” said Dominic Griffiths, partner and co-head of the global Banking & Finance practice at Mayer Brown. “Dasha’s arrival complements our ambitious plans. Her experience and our expansion into CLOs in London significantly adds to what we can offer our clients, who have been looking for more coverage in this area. It also builds on our strong structured finance team.”
Alex Dell, head of Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice in London, said: “Dasha is a great fit for our practice. Her credentials enhance our existing capabilities and enable us to help clients take advantage of the thriving CLO market. We are delighted to welcome Dasha to the firm.”
Commenting on her appointment, Dasha said: “I am excited to build my practice within Mayer Brown’s highly respected Banking & Finance practice and work with my new colleagues to leverage the firm’s global platform.”
Dasha is the fourth partner to join Mayer Brown’s London Banking & Finance practice since June 2018. Her arrival follows the appointments of Stuart Brinkworth, Paul Tannenbaum and Ashley McDermott.
