McGuireWoods London continues the strategic expansion of its corporate practice with the addition of partner Jeremy Davis, who enhances the firm’s already formidable global mergers and acquisitions capabilities.
Davis brings significant experience in cross-border M&A involving U.S. investment in Europe and in assisting multinationals to expand their business interests throughout Europe. He advises clients across industries, including metals, packaging, manufacturing and information technology, and represents businesses of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Davis’ transactional experience includes representing a Fortune 500 auto parts company in multiple strategic acquisitions that dramatically expanded its European footprint. He also advised the selling shareholders of Cyprus’ leading pharmaceutical company to a market leader in health and care products in South Africa for €335 million.
Prestigious guides published by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 have recognized Davis for his M&A and corporate finance work. He joins McGuireWoods London from K&L Gates.
“I have worked with Jeremy for more than 20 years and his full-service M&A capabilities and extensive cross-border experience strengthen our corporate practice in London to the benefit of our U.S. and European clients,” said Scott Westwood, chair of McGuireWoods’ M&A, Corporate Transactions & Technology Department.
“McGuireWoods is an established leader in the United States for M&A work, and Jeremy will certainly bolster our outstanding group here in London,” said Daniel Peyton, managing partner of the London office.
“I am very excited to join McGuireWoods London at this exciting time and to help with the growth of the corporate team. It is a talented team and I’m looking forward to helping our clients achieve their business goals,” Davis said.
McGuireWoods earned a Tier 1 ranking — the highest possible — in The Legal 500 UK 2016 guide for corporate and commercial M&A. The strong results came at the same time the firm broadened its footprint with new offices in Shanghai and San Francisco to assist clients with trans-Pacific deals.
McGuireWoods was among the top 10 law firms for overall and mid-market M&A in 2016, according to authoritative league tables compiled by Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters.
