Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Derwin Jenkinson, a leading energy and infrastructure finance partner, has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in the Finance practice. Derwin joins from Ashurst where he was a partner for seven years. His arrival comes on the heels of the firm’s hiring of leading finance lawyers Peter Hayes and Mei Lian, who each joined Paul Hastings from Shearman and Sterling over the last three months.
“The talent we are attracting in London is a testament to the strength of our leading practices,” said Seth Zachary, chairman of Paul Hastings. “Derwin’s addition builds on our track record in London of attracting dynamic talent in the areas clients need it the most,” he added.
“I am excited to be part of Paul Hastings’ ongoing growth story in London and work with leaders like energy and infrastructure veteran Steven Bryan,” said Derwin. “This is a great opportunity for me to progress the impressive growth of Paul Hastings’ Energy and Infrastructure M&A practice,” he added.
Derwin is an energy and infrastructure finance partner who advises on a broad range of financing structures within loan and capital markets, including infrastructure M&A, project finance and structured debt. His practice includes all forms of debt financings, including loans, private placement notes, project bonds, whole business securitisation and bond/bank combination financings, project financings (junior and senior) as well as restructurings.
He acts for sponsors, banks, corporates, the UK Government, rating agencies, multilaterals, credit enhancement providers and institutional investors.
Derwin’s arrival continues Paul Hastings’ strong lateral growth across its global platforms. Over the past 18 months, the firm has welcomed more than two dozen partners, and in the last six months alone has added Finance & Restructuring partners Peter Hayes and Mei Lian in London, Guilhem Bremond in Paris, James Grogan in Houston, Justin Rawlins in Los Angeles, and Philip Ratner in New York.
