The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Rebecca Swindells has joined the Firm as a partner in its Intellectual Property Practice. Ms. Swindells, previously an IP and technology protection and enforcement partner at Fieldfisher LLP, will be based in Jones Day’s London Office.
Ms. Swindells has significant experience in brand protection and enforcement including litigation on copyrights, trademark, and unfair competition matters. Her practice includes a focus on advising media and technology companies on licensing disputes, chain of title issues, format right disputes, database rights, copyright and trademark infringement, and on the implementation and operation of global anti-counterfeiting programs. An experienced litigator, she has also successfully handled U.K. copyright and trademark cases, with a particular emphasis on online copyright disputes, which in today’s e-commerce world is an important practice for clients across industries.

Ms. Swindells’ recent matters include representing Telefonica UK Limited in trademark infringement court proceedings and advising Time Inc and Time Inc UK on IP protection and enforcement issues. She has also conducted High Court trial litigation on behalf of various clients including MTV Networks, Elvis Presley Enterprises, and The Football Association.
