Global law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of intellectual property partner Jonathan Radcliffe to its Intellectual Property, Information and Innovation Group in London.
With nearly 30 years’ experience practising in the intellectual property field, Jonathan has built a strong IP practice with a focus on patent disputes.
Jonathan’s practice covers a wide range of technologies, with a particular focus on cases with a high scientific and/or technological content in the life sciences, high tech, and engineering sectors. He has acted on a number of leading IP matters, including: patentability of software, added matter, preventing attempted post-revocation patent amendment, entitlement to patents and inventions, patent injunctions, the trade mark classification system, and the registerability of shape trade marks. He is one of only two English solicitors to have had both a patent appeal and a trade mark appeal in the UK Supreme Court.
Jonathan’s arrival follows that of IP partner Anette Gärtner, who joined the firm’s Frankfurt office in April 2015.

Reed Smith’s European IP team includes nearly 20 lawyers across London, Paris, Munich and Frankfurt, advising on patents, trade marks, copyright, design rights, unfair competition, product piracy, intellectual property transactions and information technology.
