Richard Hill Joins White & Case as a Partner in London

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Construction Practice with the addition of Richard Hill as a partner in the London office. Richard joins White & Case from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a partner and previously led the Energy Project Finance Team.

“Our Tier 1 ranked global construction practice remains in strong demand as the industry continues to grow,” said Dipen Sabharwal, Regional Section Head, EMEA Disputes. “The addition of Richard, with his track record and reputation for advising clients in respect of procurement strategies, construction contracts and negotiations, will make our construction practice an even more formidable force in the market.”

Richard Hill is a senior contracts and construction lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, in addition to advising on commercial contracts within the energy sector and in relation to infrastructure projects. He advises governments, developers and corporates on procurement strategies and contracts, and investors and lenders on projects that are in development or operation.

“Richard’s international expertise advising on projects in North and Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in the UK, is a perfect fit for the cross-border nature of our work,” said Ellis Baker, who leads the Firm’s Construction Practice. “His significant experience in non-contentious construction, energy and infrastructure projects across numerous regions, complements and builds on our existing capabilities.”

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case’s global Executive Committee, said: “We have made a number of considered additions as part of our 2020 strategy, being careful to focus growth on specific areas that support our ambitions. Richard is an excellent example of this, furthering our expansion in London and the strengthening of our market leading construction practice. Globally our capabilities in construction have been significantly bolstered recently, with the additions in 2018 of contentious construction and international arbitration partners David Robertson and Jorge Mattamouros, in London and Houston respectively, and non-contentious construction partner David Strickland in Houston, as well as the promotion to partner of construction and international arbitration specialist Luka Kristovic Blazevic in Riyadh in January 2019.”
