Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces the appointment of Rahul Chatterji as a Leveraged Finance partner in the Finance practice, based in London. This follows the appointment of Sanjeev Dhuna and Gary Hamp in London and Heather Water Borthwick in New York. Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling Rahul was a Special Counsel at Milbank LLP.
Rahul has extensive experience advising on a wide range of complex cross-border banking and finance transactions. His expertise spans acquisition financing and leveraged buyouts (public and private M&A), other event-driven financing transactions, direct and special situations lending, distressed investments and debt restructurings and workouts.

Rahul’s hire follows the appointment of London partners Sanjeev Dhuna in Leveraged Finance, Phil Cheveley in M&A and Sam Brodie and Helena Potts in Restructuring. Further recent partner hires include Houston partners Emily Leitch in Capital Markets and Daniel Tristan in Finance.
