Two High-Profile Litigators to Join Latham & Watkins in London

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Jon Holland and Andrea Monks will join the London office as partners in the Litigation & Trial Department. Holland and Monks are experienced and respected litigators, with notable track records advising retail and investment banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions in a number of landmark disputes and contentious regulatory matters. Holland and Monks join Latham & Watkins from the London office of Hogan Lovells.

Holland and Monks are widely regarded as two of the market’s leading financial services litigators:
Holland has more than 20 years’ experience advising banks and other financial institutions on a variety of high-profile disputes before the courts. In addition he has acted on numerous headline investigations including LIBOR, FX, and precious metals. He has also appeared regularly before major international authorities in the UK, US and across Europe.
Monks has vast expertise advising financial institutions on a wide range of domestic and cross-border disputes. She has particular experience with contentious regulatory investigations, and she regularly counsels banks, corporates and other bodies in the regulated sector on their anti-money laundering obligations. Monks also practices general commercial litigation and has experience of contract disputes, fraud and asset-tracing, joint venture and supply chain disputes, and aviation disputes.

Holland completed his LLB at Exeter University before training at Lovell White & King (now Hogan Lovells). He is qualified in England & Wales, Hong Kong, and the ACT in Australia. Monks completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees at the University of Queensland, Australia, before qualifying as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1999, and as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2003.
