Global specialist law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Kerin Cantwell has joined the firm as a partner in the corporate practice. Known for her experience in the energy sector, Cantwell was most recently a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. She will be resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Cantwell advises on domestic and international corporate matters in the renewable energy sector. She has significant experience in representing project sponsors and owners in the development and financing of projects in the United States and Puerto Rico as well as in advising purchasers and sellers in corporate mergers and acquisitions. Fluent in Mandarin, Kerin previously spent five years based in the Hong Kong office of an international law firm and is particularly experienced in structuring cross-border transactions.

Cantwell is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she was the first recipient of the Chun-ren Tai Awards for Written and Spoken Chinese, and the first student to write an honors thesis in Chinese. A graduate of Harvard Law School, she is a member of the California Bar.
