Thomas Cleary Joins Dykema In Los Angeles

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Thomas M. Cleary to its Corporate Finance Practice Group as a Member in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Dykema, Cleary was a Partner in SNR Denton’s Corporate Practice Group.

Tom focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, venture capital and private equity financings, and public and private offerings of equity and debt securities. He has served as outside corporate and securities counsel to several public and private issuers, including aerospace, e-commerce, high-tech, consumer products and food service companies, clothing retailers, and toy manufacturers.
“With a diverse client base and extensive experience in middle market transactions, Tom is highly regarded as a trusted corporate advisor,” said Rex E. Schlaybaugh, Jr., Dykema’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “He will be an important resource for our clients moving forward, as we continue to deepen our corporate finance capabilities and grow our presence in Los Angeles.”
“Tom is a great fit,” said J. Michael Bernard, Leader of Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice Group. “Our Corporate Finance practice continues to expand, and Tom brings important depth to our team.”
Cleary’s arrival comes on the heels of three other seasoned lawyers who recently joined Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice. Debra Clark joined the practice in Chicago from SNR Denton in August, and Steve Peden and Harvey Rosen joined the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice Group in Los Angeles earlier this year. Peden was formerly with Steptoe & Johnson LLP, and Rosen had been a founder and served for 15 years as Managing Principal of Rosen, Wachtell & Gilbert. In the past 12 months, Dykema has added 12 new lawyers to its Los Angeles office.
“We welcome Tom to Dykema as we continue to grow our West Coast capabilities in order to meet client needs. Most recently, our additions have included lawyers in the transactional, regulatory and litigation arenas,” noted Dan Stephenson, Managing Member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office.
Cleary currently serves as a Director and the Secretary of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
