Los Angeles Office of Polsinelli Shughart Adds Litigation Partner

Polsinelli Shughart’s Los Angeles office continues to grow with the addition of Wesley D. Hurst as a shareholder practicing in the Trial department. Hurst represents both national and California-based clients in his business litigation practice, assisting companies and individuals through all aspects of complex commercial, construction and real estate disputes as well as providing class action defense.

Polsinelli Shughart’s national Trial department team includes more than 200 attorneys practicing in Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Phoenix, St. Louis, Washington, D.C. and now Los Angeles. Attorneys in the department have tried and won cases and appeals on behalf of some of the largest companies and against some of the most acclaimed law firms in the nation.
“Polsinelli Shughart has a rich, national reputation of trial and appellate advocacy. I’m pleased to be a part of that team and practicing with some of the premier trial attorneys in the country,” Hurst said. “The firm is a natural fit for me and offers an outstanding opportunity to grow my national practice as well as provide exceptional and broad support for my California clients..”
In his trial practice, Hurst has represented large national corporations and business chains as well as small-to-midsize localized businesses in a variety of industries, including construction, national car rental and real estate. He manages all aspects of litigation up to and through trial and post trial motion procedures. He also has extensive experience advising clients with insurance coverage issues
“Wes is a very accomplished litigator with a solid record of success,” said Los Angeles Managing Partner Lisa Greer Quateman. “His courtroom experience and savvy counsel is a good complement to our growing team of attorneys in Los Angeles. We are pleased Wes is joining us as we expand our firm’s presence on the West Coast.”
The addition of Hurst to the Los Angeles office occurs during an exciting period of growth for Polsinelli Shughart, which opened in office in California and Dallas in 2011. The National Law Journal ranked Polsinelli Shughart in 2011 as “the third fastest growing law firm in the country.”
Hurst earned his law degree from Golden Gate University, and his B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California-Los Angeles. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Hurst recently completed two terms on the finance committee of the UCLA Alumni Association and is a volunteer attorney for the Alliance for Children’s Rights and the Federal Pro Se Clinic. Away from the practice of law, Hurst is a volunteer assistant baseball coach, cheers respectfully at his children’s many sporting events and plays two man beach volleyball.
