The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green (EBG) today announced that Adam C. Abrahms, a seasoned labor management relations attorney, has joined the Labor and Employment practice as a Member of the Firm in its Los Angeles office.
Previously, Abrahms held the position of Special Labor Counsel in Proskauer’s Labor and Employment Law Department, where he devoted his practice almost exclusively to aiding employers in developing strategies to remain union-free and, in organized operations, to securing and expanding management rights. Abrahms provides counsel to clients on corporate campaigns, union representation elections, unfair labor practice cases, collective bargaining, and labor arbitrations.
“Adam’s rare depth and range of experience practicing before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) will be an added benefit to our team. Currently, the NRLB has taken an aggressive approach, vastly expanding the scope of ‘protected concerted activity’, and unions’ organizing rights, not to mention its unprecedented interference with operational decisions,” said Jay P. Krupin, Chair of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Steering Committee. “Our team, which now includes Adam, is always looking for ways to help clients preserve their management prerogatives on this increasingly tilted playing field.”
“The addition of Adam will not only strengthen our Labor and Employment practice on the West Coast, but will also further enhance our national platform as we strive to meet the growing needs of our clients,” said David Jacobs, Managing Shareholder of the Firm’s Los Angeles office.
Abrahms said, “With employers facing new and concerted challenges, it is important for me to be at a firm dedicated to the strength of its labor practices. With labor and employment law as a cornerstone of EBG’s practice since its founding, EBG certainly fits the bill. Its breadth and focus in representing the health care and hospitality industries provides the perfect synergy with my practice and will give me the opportunity to provide my clients with focused service excellence.”
