In June 2010, the firm represented an investor group led by ZelnickMedia in its acquisition of Alloy, Inc. The firm is currently representing Alloy, Inc. in the sale of its Alloy Entertainment, LLC division to the television group of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the third calendar quarter.
Alloy Entertainment is a leading producer of youth-oriented content for all media, including “Gossip Girl,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Lying Game” and the upcoming “666 Park Avenue”, all of which started as successful book franchises aimed at teen girls and young women. In addition, Alloy Entertainment has also produced movies, including the two “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films and “The Clique.” In addition to film and television, Alloy Entertainment is the most successful independent packager of fiction in the world. Approximately 50 of the company’s titles have achieved New York Times bestseller status.
