Alston & Bird LLP today announced the addition of veteran environmental litigator, Mark Johnson, to its Los Angeles office, joining the firm’s already highly regarded Environmental & Land Development Practice Group. Johnson brings with him over 30 years of experience focusing on environmental matters, including CERCLA, petroleum and hazardous waste contamination, toxic torts, air quality, public water supplies, Proposition 65, CEQA and the California Coastal Act.
“Mark adds an incredible wealth of knowledge and skill to the firm’s strong environmental bench,” said Alston & Bird Managing Partner Richard Hays. “His experience in one of the most cutting-edge jurisdictions for environmental law is invaluable to our bicoastal team.”
Johnson also has construction and real estate litigation experience in California, representing a wide array of private companies and public agencies.
“Mark brings vast substantive litigation experience and a broad service focus to the firm’s West Coast environmental practice, which will greatly benefit our clients in this space,” said Thomas Wingard, partner-in-charge of Alston & Bird’s Los Angeles office.
Johnson earned his J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law, Los Angeles, and his B.S. in petroleum engineering from the University of Southern California.
