Matthew B. Gruenberg, a noted corporate lawyer, has joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department and will chair the Franchising & Distribution Law Practice Group.
Formerly of Gruenberg Garnett Harris LLP, Gruenberg has focused his practice on domestic and international franchising, licensing and distribution matters throughout his career. His practice also includes general corporate, trademark, and real estate matters. His depth of experience has involved significant mergers and acquisitions, state, federal and international franchise law compliance matters, franchise system formations and licensing system conversions.
“We are excited to have Matt join our firm,” said David Allen, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Los Angeles office. “His addition continues the expansion of our practice by adding corporate and real estate transactional capabilities to our Los Angeles office. Moreover, Matt’s depth of knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and business climate in which franchisors and franchisees interact will be of great assistance to our clients nationally.”
Gruenberg is the latest attorney to join the firm’s Los Angeles, which opened in February 2011. The firm currently has 22 attorneys who practice in a number of areas, including complex litigation, labor and employment, intellectual property and corporate matters. In addition, the group includes an Entertainment and Music practice that represents some of the most recognizable artists, brands and companies in the entertainment industry. The group has extensive experience in the business needs of the advertising, film, live events, sports, music, technology, television and videogame industries.
