Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Leila Nourani has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as Partner. Ms. Nourani joins Jackson Lewis from Foley & Lardner LLP, where she served as Chair of the Los Angeles office’s Litigation Department from 2008 to 2011.

For over 18 years, Ms. Nourani has represented clients in a broad range of litigation matters in both state and federal courts. She is experienced in all phases of litigation and has prosecuted, defended and managed small to complex multi-party cases, including qui tam, representative and class actions.
Ms. Nourani has jury and bench trial experience as well as expertise in domestic and international arbitrations. She has mediated hundreds of cases and served as a Volunteer Alternative Dispute Resolution Mediator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Her practice focuses on the defense of claims for sexual harassment, discrimination, defamation, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, violations of California Business and Professions Code Sections 17200, as well as contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims and CFAA violations.
Ms. Nourani also provides counseling on litigation avoidance, sexual harassment policies, and compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act.
Ms. Nourani is a graduate of the University of London, Kings College, and the Université de Paris I, Sorbonne, from which she received prestigious Joint English and French law degrees (L.L.B. Honors and Maitrise de Droit, 1989). Ms. Nourani was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales where she practiced as a Barrister at Law until she moved to the United States.
Admitted to the California Bar in 1992, Ms. Nourani is also admitted to practice before the California Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California. She is a member of various professional associations including the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the National and Western Diocesan Attorney Associations, the Women’s Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the American-British Bar Association and the International Franchise Association.
Ms. Nourani is active with legal aid societies and has provided significant pro bono services through Public Counsel, Bet Tzedek, the Alliance for Children’s Rights and various disaster relief agencies.
Ms. Nourani speaks fluent French and conversational Farsi.
