Continuing with its plan for strategic growth, Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP, the IP super boutique, announced that Bret Bocchieri has joined the firm as a partner on March 26. He will practice out of the firm’s Los Angeles office where he will concentrate on intellectual property litigation, including cyber piracy and trade secret litigation, as well as antitrust and other complex litigation.
“Bret has developed a national reputation as one of the leading attorneys in his field, particularly in the area of Internet piracy,” said Greg Novak, the firm’s Managing Partner and CEO. “We are very pleased that our firm’s growth and industry reputation have attracted Bret and his clients to our national boutique platform.”
Mr. Bocchieri’s clients represent a diverse array of sectors, including software, automotive, manufacturing, wireless technologies, semiconductors and microchips, among others. He has established a number of important precedents in patent law that have been mentioned in the national press and more than a dozen legal treatises, law journals and law school textbooks. Mr. Bocchieri is also a noted author and lecturer on intellectual property litigation strategies and tactics, and has been featured by CNN Headline News as one of the country’s leading practitioners in Internet piracy.
Formerly a partner with Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Mr. Bocchieri is a member of the California State Bar; United States Court of Appeals – Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit; and the United States District Court – Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California. He is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Technology Law Association.

Mr. Bocchieri earned his law degree from the University of New Hampshire’s Franklin Pierce Law Center, one of the top five IP law school programs in the country, as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. He previously graduated with an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Middlesex County College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University.
