National law firm Polsinelli announced today it has expanded its presence on the West Coast with the addition of Daniel W. Bir, the latest in the series of recent hires. Bir joined the firm’s national Products Liability and Toxic and Mass Tort litigation teams as a principal in its Los Angeles office.
“It’s a rare opportunity to be able to join a firm as well respected as Polsinelli that has such a large national presence and a strategic interest in expanding its footprint on the West Coast,” Bir said. “In addition to expanding the service depth provided to the firm’s clients in this area, I can provide my clients in Southern California with access to a full-service platform in 19 offices across the country.”
Bir is a litigator who immerses himself in his clients’ businesses to gain a thorough understanding of long-term goals and objectives. He assists businesses with all stages of litigation on a variety of issues and in a variety of industries, including complex multi-party disputes with an emphasis on product liability actions, general liability actions and catastrophic injury claims.
“Dan’s many years of experience litigating matters throughout the United States, and his emphasis on working with businesses and manufacturers to mitigate risk and address claims through mediation, settlement and litigation complement our group very well,” said Farah Nicol, co-vice chair of Polsinelli’s national Toxic and Mass Tort practice group and a principal in the firm’s Los Angeles office. “We are pleased to have Dan join our team, which has successfully defended thousands of toxic and mass tort cases in some of the most challenging jurisdictions, including Los Angeles, Alameda and San Francisco counties in California.”

In addition, Bir works on pro bono cases for the Center for Veterans Advancement, a program supported through the Public Counsel Law Center to help veterans gain employment after completing military service. Bir also volunteers his time with the South Central Los Angeles Ministry Project, which offers educational programs to empower women and their families. He earned his bachelor’s degree and juris doctor degree from Pepperdine University.
