Barnes & Thornburg Adds Corporate Partner in Los Angeles Office

William B. Kirshenbaum, an experienced corporate transactions and M&A attorney, has joined Barnes & Thornburg’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department. Kirshenbaum’s arrival closely follows the firm’s corporate law expansion on the opposite coast with the additions of Jahan Sharifi and Scott Beal, two founding partners of the firm’s New York office. Mr. Kirshenbaum comes to Barnes & Thornburg from Rosenfeld Meyer & Susman LLP.

A former general counsel for an international aerospace company, Kirshenbaum focuses his practice on providing counsel to clients in the manufacturing and aviation industries. His practice encompasses a wide breadth of business and outside general counsel matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, private securities offerings, licensing, and commercial transactions. He advises family businesses and Fortune 500 companies, both domestically and internationally.

“Bill’s versatile approach to his practice will be invaluable as we help our clients bounce back from the difficulties of the past few months and navigate the challenges that lie ahead,” said David Allen, Los Angeles managing partner. “We’re delighted to welcome such a talented client counselor like Bill, who has built a name for himself in California and beyond.”

He is also adept at handling matters on behalf of clients in the entertainment, real estate, retail, and automotive sectors, and at negotiating agreements with financing sources, customers, suppliers and employees.

“The firm has made a number of well-rounded additions to the Corporate Department this year, further expanding the range of services we can offer our clients,” said David Gotlieb, chair of the department. “Bill’s arrival upholds the emphasis on deep experience that we continually strive for, and are thrilled to have him on board.”
