Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Jeffrey S. Horton Thomas in Los Angeles as a Partner in the Labor & Employment Department. Thomas was previously a partner at Akerman LLP.
“Jeffrey is known throughout the state for his work navigating high stakes employment law disputes,” said Emily J. Yukich, Fox’s Los Angeles Office Managing Partner. “His work advising mid-market and Fortune 500 companies on disability accommodation, pay equity, gender discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims will be a great asset to our West Coast team.”
With more than 30 years in the trenches of significant employment litigation, Thomas frequently handles employment law disputes throughout California for clients in entertainment, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, professional services, healthcare, nonprofit, transportation, fashion, food processing and other sectors. He effectively counsels and defends employers in the full range of California and federal employment law matters, including wage and hour disputes, PAGA actions and class actions.
Employers also rely on Thomas to safeguard their trade secrets and to help retain employees and customers in the face of potentially damaging overtures by competitors. He is sought out to conduct workplace investigations, lead teams conducting wage and hour compliance audits and guide clients through plant closures and mass layoffs.
Named a 2019 “Employment Law Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal, Thomas serves on the Board of Directors of the Employment Roundtable of Southern California, an organization aimed at educating employers on their obligations under California fair employment law, as well as Step Up – Los Angeles, which empowers young women in the region to pursue their education and career goals.
He earned his J.D. and B.A. from the University of Kansas.
