Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that Cynthia D. Brittain has joined the firm as a partner in its Trusts and Estates practice in the Los Angeles–Century City office.

Prior to joining Katten, Brittain served as the director of Inbound Wealth Advisory and a senior fiduciary officer for Northern Trust, where she was responsible for designing estate plans and advising on the use of multi-jurisdictions for effective tax planning. She also previously was employed as an attorney in London and Hong Kong, and has extensive experience counseling clients on tax mitigation and cross-border wealth transfer strategies as well as succession plans for family-owned companies.

Brittain frequently is tapped as a guest speaker on multi-generational and international estate planning and cross-border fiduciary issues. In addition, she serves as a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and co-chair of the tax committee of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association.
