King & Spalding Welcomes E-Discovery Partner Chris Costello to Product Liability and Mass Torts Practice Group in Los Angeles

King & Spalding announced today that e-discovery lawyer Chris Costello has joined the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group as a partner in its Los Angeles office.

Costello advises clients on e-discovery and information governance matters, including litigation readiness, document retention and information management, cross-border discovery issues, privacy and legal holds. He also has experience handling all aspects of complex litigation for a wide variety of disputes from inception through trial and resolution.

“Chris is a well-known thought leader and problem solver in the e-discovery space with a deep knowledge of e-discovery case law and a strong litigation background that make him a great addition to our team,” said Andy Bayman, co-leader of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group. “Chris has extensive experience handling early litigation counseling on discovery issues, negotiating discovery agreements, and addressing cross-border discovery issues – all of which are in high demand from our clients.”

Costello joins King & Spalding from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a partner. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University, his M.A. in International Affairs from American University and his B.A. from St. John’s University.

“King & Spalding was a pioneer in the e-discovery space and continues to lead the field, and I am excited to help continue that,” said Costello. “The firm has been smart and intentional in recognizing the strategic possibilities for e-discovery, which makes it a great place to grow my practice.”
