Morgan Lewis is pleased to welcome Sarah Guske as a partner resident in San Francisco, adding to the firm’s bench of intellectual property (IP) litigators with deep technical knowledge. Sarah arrives from Baker Botts, where she most recently chaired the California IP department and previously served as co-chair of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Trials Group.
“Global innovation is accelerating, and the complexity of advancements in software, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications is growing. Our clients face heightened scrutiny on intellectual property claims and challenges from competitors,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Sarah’s experience in both district court and PTAB litigation, particularly in high-stakes patent cases, makes her an indispensable resource for our clients.”
Drawing on her electrical engineering and physics background, Sarah represents technology, telecommunications, and other Fortune 500 companies in litigation before the PTAB, US district courts, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
“We’re thrilled that Sarah is joining us and bringing her first-chair litigation experience to our firm, adding tremendous value to our IP disputes practice and our clients, both in California and nationwide,” said Louis W. Beardell, Jr., leader of Morgan Lewis’s global IP practice. “Sarah’s combination of technical knowledge and trial experience adds to our already deep trial bench and gives our clients a strategic advantage in an increasingly competitive and litigious landscape.”
Sarah joins Morgan Lewis’s California-based IP disputes practice comprised of partners with technical backgrounds and deep, diverse experience in patent litigation. Her arrival follows that of other IP practitioners, including patent litigator Tim Powell in London in October 2024; veteran IP litigator Hiroshi Sheraton, who joined in London in September 2024; and partners Dr. Alexander Klett and Dr. Christoph Mikyska, who joined the firm in Munich in July 2024.
