DLA Piper announced today that Patrick Anding has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Anding focuses his practice on advising startups and emerging companies in the technology, digital media, entertainment and life science industries in private placements of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and corporate governance and securities law compliance matters. In addition, his practice also includes a focus on intellectual property, licensing, and commercial transactions, with an emphasis on the digital exploitation of media.
“Patrick brings a strong track record in emerging company and venture capital work, and his addition will benefit our technology, media and entertainment and life science clients by enhancing our Corporate capabilities in Los Angeles, as well as adding additional depth and experience to our practice in San Diego,” said Joe Alexander, global co-chair of the firm’s Corporate and Private Equity practices.

Anding is the latest addition in Los Angeles, where the firm has recently welcomed Daniel Robyn, a partner in the Tax practice; Michael Jay, a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology practice; David Markman, who co-chairs the Entertainment Transactions practice; Tom Ara, who co-chairs the Entertainment Finance and Entertainment Transactions practices; Robert Sherman, who co-chairs the Entertainment Finance practice; and Holly Lake, a partner in the Employment practice.
Before attending law school, Anding worked in the media and entertainment business as a producer and creative executive, producing a wide range of film, music and new media projects for a diverse range of companies and nonprofit organizations.
