Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Jonathan Forgang has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice. Forgang arrives at the firm from Alston & Bird LLP.
Jonathan has significant experience advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies with respect to borrower-side debt finance transactions, including leveraged acquisitions and recapitalizations. His practice includes structuring and negotiating senior and subordinated debt facilities, as well as term, revolving, and asset-based loan facilities, with both commercial bank and non-bank lenders and high-yield note offerings.
“Expanding our debt finance capabilities is a key priority for our national M&A practice and Jonathan’s strong record of success advising on middle market debt financings and credit facilities will further benefit our clients,” said Nick Ferrer and Gina Eiben, firmwide co-chairs of Perkins Coie’s M&A practice. “Our transactional work across the M&A spectrum, but especially for private equity firms remains robust and we’re pleased to welcome a lawyer with Jonathan’s experience to the practice.”
“Perkins Coie has a long and storied reputation advising private equity firms and high growth companies in California, the West Coast and beyond and I’m excited to be joining the firm’s dynamic M&A practice,” said Jonathan. “I was also attracted to Perkins Coie because of the breadth of its client work across the technology sector and other related fields, including fintech, industrials, and consumer goods, and services.”
Jonathan received his J.D. from Fordham University and his B.A. from The George Washington University. He also serves as a board member of the Los Angeles-based Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, which protects victims of domestic violence and works to improve the well-being of children living in poverty.
