Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli announced today the addition of health care attorney Jonathan Buck as a shareholder to its Los Angeles office. Before joining Polsinelli, Jonathan served as Director of Legal Services at Helton Law.
Buck’s extensive health care operations experience as both a successful law firm practitioner for several years and former senior counsel to one of the nation’s largest health care systems will further bolster Polsinelli’s growing Southern California health care practice.
“Our health care team continues to expand to meet the increasing demand of clients in California and nationally,” said Matt Murer, chair of the firm’s Health Care department. “Jonathan’s experience in health care operations and his track record for developing business solutions that achieve both the business and legal goals of clients will be an excellent complement to our team as we continue to expand our presence on the West Coast.”
Buck counsels clients on health care regulations, managed care contract terms, dispute resolution, operational and revenue cycle improvement strategies, payor legal obligations, third party payor contract preparation and review, and privacy policies. While serving as senior counsel for Dignity Health’s (formerly known as Catholic Healthcare West) managed care and revenue services, hospitals and foundations in California, Arizona and Nevada, Buck gained extensive experience in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, contract negotiation, disputes with health plans, privacy, and a wide range of health care operations legal issues. Buck’s multi-tiered approach supports health systems and providers navigate the continued evolution of payor – provider relationships, risk arrangements and alternative payment models.
“Jonathan brings a depth of understanding of both the health care industry pressures and opportunities that our clients across the nation are experiencing today,” said Colleen Faddick, chair of the firm’s health care operations practice. “His experience in health care operations and litigation will further supplement the full range of health care services that our Los Angeles office provides to clients throughout the country.”
Polsinelli is recognized as having one of the largest concentrations of health care attorneys and professionals in the nation. The firm’s health care department received a national tier one ranking in health care law by U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 “Best Law Firms” and was ranked as the 2018 “Law Firm of the Year” in health care by U.S. News & World Report. In 2017, the BTI Industry Power Rankings recognized the health care department as being in the top 3% for strongest client relationships in the health care industry out of 650 top U.S. firms.
