Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of partner Dana S. Treister to the firm’s Real Estate practice in Los Angeles. Treister joins Seyfarth from Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he was a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate department in Los Angeles.
Treister’s practice focuses on a wide assortment of real estate transactions, with an emphasis on the acquisition and sale of commercial properties, real estate finance, land use and entitlement work, and ground lease transactions. He has represented numerous clients in the formation of joint ventures and in structuring tax-advantaged real estate transactions. Notably, Treister has advised a number of developers in a variety of development transactions, ranging from the rehabilitation of existing industrial and multi-family properties to ground-up construction, particularly in the hospitality industry.

In addition, Treister has experience representing portfolio purchasers in intricate loan structuring and has coordinated the defeasance, re-financing, and restructuring of existing debt instruments. Throughout his career, he has counseled clients in multimillion dollar transactions involving multi-family apartment complexes, office campuses, warehouses, and shopping centers, among others.

A recognized leader in the field, Treister has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. He received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Southern California School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Law Review, and earned his B.A. in Economics at Stanford University where he played on the Stanford tennis team.
