Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Gregory J. Morrow has joined as principal in the firm’s Litigation Practice, based in Los Angeles. Most recently in private practice, Mr. Morrow previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Contessa Premium Foods, a fully integrated international consumer products company, for fifteen years.

Mr. Morrow actively participates with several industry organizations at the intersection of digital commerce, new media and cutting edge technology including the California State Bar Intellectual Property Section, Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property Section (ELIPS) for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC), AlwaysOn Network, Digital Hollywood, Silicon Valley Innovation Summit (SVIS), AngelList, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and many others.
He also has served the United States with distinction as Examining Officer-In-Charge for the Federal Reserve Bank, Senior Trial Attorney for the Interstate Commerce Commission, Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California and Assistant District Counsel for the US Department of Justice Immigration & Naturalization Service.

A staple in the Los Angeles community, Mr. Morrow provides his expertise to many associations addressing important business as well as social issues. He has participated as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), Southern California Chapter, chairing the International as well as Pro Bono Committees; a founding member of the RAND Corporation, Institute for Civil Justice, Southern California 50 Leadership Council; a member of the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Legal Foundation, and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Mr. Morrow is also a standing Delegate on the US Delegation to the United Nations and World Health Organization’s Codex Alimentarius, establishing worldwide production, formulation and quality assurance standards. He has presided as judge for the UCLA Moot Court Program and as a guest lecturer and panelist at the ACC Annual Meeting (the world’s largest gathering of in-house counsel) and as instructor for the University of Florida Food Science and Human Nutrition Department. Mr. Morrow is a founding member of the Men’s Advisory Board for the UCLA Rape Treatment Center and is a long-time supporter of the LA County Museum of Art, The Frick Collection and Save Venice Inc.
A prolific writer, Mr. Morrow co-authored a significant US Supreme Court Petition for Writ of Certiorari, advancing certain critical intellectual property concepts concerning the scope of protection available to trademark and copyright owners. He has also published “The Perils of Third Party Certification” (University of Florida); “Export & Restriction Controls” (Association of Corporate Counsel); “Copyright Registrations and Recordations” (United States Copyright Office); and “Budgeting Tools for the New Attorney Manager” (Association of Corporate Counsel). Additionally, the US House of Representatives relied on written comments from Mr. Morrow to successfully repeal the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act (the Byrd Amendment).
