Vedder Price is pleased to announce the addition of two experienced attorneys to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Richard C. Pugh, Jr. joins the Finance & Transactions group and Lisa M. Simonetti strengthens the Litigation group—both as Shareholders.
“We are thrilled to welcome both of these well-respected attorneys to the Los Angeles office,” said Scott E. Adamson, a member of the Finance & Transactions group and Administrative Shareholder in the Los Angeles office. “Given Lisa’s substantial background in defending class actions and other complex litigation, as well as counseling financial institutions on compliance and litigation avoidance, and Richard’s deep finance and secured lending experience, these additions support our ongoing efforts to build a strong, diverse team on the West Coast.”
Mr. Pugh represents lenders, private equity portfolio companies and corporate borrowers in commercial finance transactions across a broad variety of industries, including health care and technology. His practice includes structuring, negotiating and documenting complex debt financing transactions, such as syndicated senior credit facilities, asset-based loans, second lien loans, acquisition financings and other leveraged finance transactions, mezzanine financings, and ESOP financings. Mr. Pugh joined the firm from Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, where he was a Partner. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.
Ms. Simonetti focuses on the defense of complex litigation, including class actions, mass actions and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. Ms. Simonetti represents a wide array of financial services companies, including credit card issuers, mortgage lenders, e-commerce companies, automotive finance companies, national banks, student lenders and savings and loan associations. She was previously a Partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Ms. Simonetti received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
