Eversheds Sutherland today announces the appointment of experienced funds professional Claudia Hoffmann to Partner in the firm’s Luxembourg office. Claudia’s practice is focused on the alternative investment fund space, working with clients across all asset classes. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Claudia was Counsel at Arendt & Medernach SA in Luxembourg, where she has practised for the past ten years.
Claudia is experienced in advising clients, including investment managers, international sponsors and investors, on the regulatory and organisational aspects of structuring and creating both regulated and unregulated alternative investment funds.
She also has a strong understanding of the increasing demand in relation to ESG and virtual assets funds’ and managers’ related matters, reflecting the shift in demand from the market towards more virtual asset-related expertise, especially regarding cryptocurrency and digital assets.
José Pascual, Managing Partner Luxembourg, Eversheds Sutherland, commented:
“I am delighted to welcome Claudia to our team in Luxembourg. She brings with her a broad range of stellar experience in the funds market and will be a valuable asset to our growing team. With our clients’ needs becoming more extensive and complex, our combined offering will serve to not only meet the demands of our existing clients, but provide a strong base from which to grow our practice in Luxembourg.”
Helen Thomas, European Managing Partner, Eversheds Sutherland, commented:
“Welcoming Claudia to the team comes at an exciting time for our practice in Europe. We are seeing increased client demand for funds-related work and Claudia’s practice spans multiple key European jurisdictions, and strengthens our capabilities in this area. We have ambitious growth plans in place for our European practice, which support the firm’s global strategy, and Claudia’s hire will help build out our goals”
Claudia Hoffmann, Partner, Eversheds Sutherland commented:
“I am very excited to be joining Eversheds Sutherland, especially at a particularly competitive and dynamic time in the funds industry. I am looking forward to working with José and the wider team to meet the ever complex needs of clients in this space, and draw on my skillset to further the established practice internationally.”
This is the latest in a string of high profile partner hires for Eversheds Sutherland’s financial services practice, following the appointment of Martin Sandler, who joined the financial services team in London in October, and Ed Winters, who joined the global law firm’s corporate practice in New York earlier this year.
Claudia is called to the bar in both Germany and Luxembourg. Claudia regularly participates in extracurricular groups on private debt and real estate funds.
