Goodwin Further Expands Investment Funds Team In Luxembourg With Partner Codrina Constantinescu

Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Codrina Constantinescu will join the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice as partner in the Luxembourg office. Constantinescu arrives at the firm from A&O Shearman, where she served as Counsel in their Investment Funds practice.

“Codrina’s expertise in both fund structuring and regulatory matters across jurisdictions will be of huge benefit to our international client base, particularly given the increased scrutiny around compliance,” said Alexandrine Armstrong-Cerfontaine, head of Goodwin’s Luxembourg practice. “Her experience across sponsors’ strategies including private equity, debt, and technology will further enhance the Luxembourg investment funds practice, which continues to expand and evolve in line with demand for its services by global investment funds. I look forward to welcoming Codrina to Goodwin.”

Codrina has more than 15 years’ experience advising on the structuring, establishment, fundraising and on-going operations of all types of regulated and unregulated alternative investment funds, co-investment vehicles, SMAs and similar structures/arrangements while acting on behalf of fund sponsors. She also assists institutional investors in relation to their participation/investments in Luxembourg or foreign investment funds and has a strong regulatory background particularly in regard to AIFMD, MIFiD and the SFDR.

Codrina’s arrival is the latest addition to Goodwin’s expansive Luxembourg team that recently relocated to larger premises to cater for its continued growth. Other recent hires include private investment funds partner Virginie Leroy and counsel Julien Schraub and Céline Moille in the Tax and Financial Services practices, respectively, whilst private investment funds attorney Oana Millich was also promoted to partner in October.

Goodwin’s Luxembourg platform covers the entire spectrum of international funds, corporate, finance and tax expertise for fund formation and structuring, domestic and cross border transactions and financings, with Chambers Global noting that the firm’s “Luxembourg team is strong and growing in strength and depth.”

With more than 200 dedicated lawyers and over fifty years of experience as innovators in fund structuring, Goodwin’s global Private Investment Funds team represents more than 1,000 investment managers around the world. The firm advises clients with funds ranging from less than $10 million to over $25 billion, with a particular focus in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. The firm was recently named the Private Funds/Hedge Funds Law Firm of the Year by US News — Best Lawyers Best Law Firms.
