Latham & Watkins To Add Experienced Employment Lawyer in Spain

Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Naiara Rodriguez-Escudero will join the firm’s Madrid office as a partner in the Benefits, Compensation & Employment Practice. Rodriguez-Escudero regularly advises Spanish and international clients on a variety of complex employment law matters relating to restructurings, outsourcings, mergers and acquisitions, including downsizing and redundancy plans, as well as the full spectrum of legal and regulatory matters relating to corporate transactions, such as industrial disputes, collective bargaining agreements, stock and cash based incentive programmes, relocation, social security, and employment litigation, among others. She joins Latham & Watkins from Linklaters’ Madrid office.

“We are delighted to welcome Naiara to the firm,” said Juan Picon, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins in Spain. “We have exciting plans to further grow our market-leading corporate practice in Spain. Naiara is a highly respected practitioner, with deep expertise across a range of employment law matters. An experienced, strategic advisor to companies and boards, Naiara’s counsel and experience will be of great value to our public company and private equity clients.”

“Naiara is one of the top employment lawyers in Spain,” added Stephen Brown, Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Benefits, Compensation & Employment Practice. “She is a highly astute lawyer, with superb judgement and a skillset that will significantly enhance our contentious and non-contentious employment capability in Spain and Europe. We are thrilled she will be joining the firm.”

“Naiara joining the firm is an important piece to the puzzle as we look to deliver sophisticated services for companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions doing business in Spain and across Europe,” added José Antonio Sánchez-Dafos, Local Chair of the Corporate Department in Spain.

Rodriguez-Escudero is the latest lawyer to join the firm in Spain, following the arrivals of Juan Picón, Ignacio Gómez-Sancha, and José Antonio Sánchez-Dafos as partners, and Ana González-Linares as counsel. She graduated with a degree in Law and Business from Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao.
