Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros is joining the firm’s Mexico City office as a partner in the Corporate Practice, specializing in transactional tax matters.
Espinosa de los Monteros’ practice focuses on transactional tax advisory and tax planning, such as M&A, joint ventures, and public-private investments. He also counsels clients regarding financial tax advisory, including Mexican REITS, financing projects and CKDS, among others. Espinosa de los Monteros joins the firm from Muñoz Manzo y Ocampo.
“There is a consistent demand for high level tax work in our area and Jaime’s 20 years of experience will be a terrific addition to our office,” said Juan Francisco Torres Landa, Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells Mexico City office. “Jaime’s vast knowledge of transactional tax matters perfectly complements our Corporate Practice and we are thrilled for him to join our ranks to support the broader transactional tax group in Mexico.”
Espinosa de los Monteros is also a tax law professor and is currently a faculty member at Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila and Universidad Panamericana. From 2004 to 2010, he was a member of the faculty at the Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey. Outside of his practice, Espinosa de los Monteros served as the President, from 2010-2012, of the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, A.C., Sección Nuevo León, and is a member of the Tax Research Committee of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas.

He earned his law degree from the School of Law of the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City and his LL.M. from the American University, Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. Espinosa de los Monteros also received a specialization in amparo (constitutional appeals) at Universidad Panamericana.
