Dentons Adds John Sarchio as Partner in Insurance Regulatory Practice

Dentons, the global law firm, today named John J. Sarchio as a partner in the Insurance Regulatory practice. He advises clients on insurance industry mergers, acquisitions and financings, reinsurance transactions, self-insurance and captive programs and insurance regulatory consulting and compliance. Sarchio will be resident in the Firm’s Miami and New York offices.

Sarchio’s insurance-related transactional experience includes insurance company demutualizations, reciprocal conversions, bank-insurer affiliations and mutual insurer mergers, as well as insurance securitizations, catastrophe bond transactions, reinsurance sidecar transactions, XXX/AXXX reserve financing transactions, and other insurance-linked securities transactions. He represents insurance industry clients in regulatory matters before the state insurance departments of Florida and New York, and has advised a variety of industrial, financial services and professional services firms on their D&O and professional liability insurance programs.

Sarchio has also counseled state and foreign governments on insurance issues and drafted laws and regulations governing various aspects of the insurance industry, including Vermont’s Captive Insurance Act and the US Virgin Islands’ Exempt Companies Act and Exempt International Insurers Act.

Sarchio earned his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review. He holds an LLM from the London School of Economics and a BS, magna cum laude, from Bucknell University.
