Foley Continues Florida Growth with Addition of Corporate Transactions Partner Jon Lyman in Miami

Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Jon Lyman has joined the firm’s Miami office as a partner in its Transactions Practice Group, further bolstering Foley’s South Florida presence as part of its strategic national expansion.

Lyman advises corporate, investment banking, private equity, and private clients on a wide range of transactions, including high-profile mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, investment transactions, and debt and equity offerings. As a C-suite and board-level advisor, Lyman is regularly called upon by directors and officers for counsel regarding transformative transactions, including on finance matters and international debt and equity trading compliance.

“Jon is a highly-regarded transactions lawyer with impressive cross-border experience that will add significant value to our growing corporate practice and clients, especially those in the dynamic South Florida market,” said Steven Vazquez, chair of Foley’s Business Law Department. “Since launching our first Florida office nearly 40 years ago, Foley has established a leading presence across the state. Jon is an excellent addition to the team as we continue to focus on expanding our presence in Florida and growing our corporate practice nationally.”

A Florida native, Lyman has more than two decades of cross-border experience, including 15 years practicing internationally, and speaks Spanish and French. Prior to joining Foley, Lyman was a partner at two Am Law 100 firms and helped build offices in London and Houston and a cross-border practice in Paris.

“The combination of Foley’s national platform and strength in the Florida market represents a unique opportunity to expand my practice in South Florida with a cross-discipline national and cross-border team,” said Lyman. “Foley continues to grow to meet the demands of sophisticated global clients while remaining committed to the distinct culture that has made it a destination for talent. I look forward to being a part of this momentum.”
