Reizen focuses her health care practice on government and internal investigations, health care regulatory matters, and compliance. She advises health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, hospices, physician groups, and other health care entities and providers on government and qui tam matters ranging from quality of care issues to physician arrangements and coding and billing matters. Reizen has extensive experience developing, implementing, and evaluating compliance programs and negotiating, analyzing, and implementing corporate integrity agreements. Along with compliance, she also has handled complex regulatory and operational matters for providers, such as quality care and fraud and abuse analysis. In addition to her in-depth capabilities on federal issues, Reizen has vast experience in complex state regulatory matters. For instance, she has advised on Medicaid managed care arrangements, reimbursement, licensure, fraud and abuse, and innovative and novel state programs.
“We are delighted to welcome Myla to the firm,” said Steven R. Weinstein, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Miami office. “She brings a wealth of health care experience to our Miami office and to our firm as a whole, including valuable experience in the regulatory, compliance, and investigations areas that will benefit clients of our health care fraud and abuse and government enforcement practices.”
Reizen’s joining follows the mid-February announcement of the arrival of corporate and franchise partner Jason Murray also in Miami, as well as the additions of health care lawyers Jacqueline Hoffman in the Dallas office and Lindsey Rogers-Seitz in the Research Triangle Park office late last year.
K&L Gates’ health care lawyers counsel clients – including major academic medical centers, tertiary care hospitals and established community and regional health care providers, large physician groups, and international health care businesses – on a variety of state and federal regulatory and compliance issues, investigations, transactions, and litigation.
K&L Gates has added a total of 11 new partners, of counsel, and special counsel around the world over the past four months. These have included additions in the firm’s Seattle, New York, Melbourne, Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, and Research Triangle Park offices across practices such as corporate and franchise, asset management and investment funds, and health care.
