Sidley is pleased to announce that Enrique Conde will join as a corporate partner in the firm’s M&A and Private Equity practice in Miami. He joins from Holland & Knight, where he was a partner in the Corporate, M&A and Securities and Latin America Practice groups. Prior to Holland & Knight, he served as the Deputy General Counsel of the SoftBank Latin America Fund and as a partner in the legal team of SoftBank Group International. Mr. Conde will start at Sidley just months ahead of Sidley’s move to 830 Brickell in Miami’s Brickell Financial District to accommodate the expanding office of nearly 70 legal and business professionals.
Mr. Conde focuses his practice on domestic and international cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, private equity and venture capital financings, joint ventures, and general contractual matters throughout North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean, Europe, APAC, and the Middle East. He also advises and represents Latin American and European companies doing business in the United States. In addition, Mr. Conde has experience in representing companies in various industries and facilitating foreign investment that has resulted in significant social and economic impact, including technology, telecommunication availability, energy and infrastructure projects, franchising, and access to financing.
“Enrique brings a wealth of cross-border experience and relationships. He has represented certain clients that we serve, so he was a natural fit to recruit with our global platform,” said Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Management Committee Chair. “His work across multiple geographies and experience with technology-focused LATAM funds will help us expand our reach. We are excited to welcome him to the firm as we continue to grow our Miami office.”
“Enrique knows the South Florida market well and has practiced with several of our Miami partners who know he will be client focused and collaborative,” said Beatriz Azcuy, co-managing partner of the Miami office and head of the Miami real estate group. “As we continue to expand in Miami, Enrique’s M&A and private equity experience will benefit our clients.”
The firm’s preeminent global M&A and Private Equity practice has more than 500 lawyers who are engaged in the full spectrum of public and private mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity transactions across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, energy, life sciences, sports, entertainment, healthcare, real estate, consumer products, transportation and logistics, infrastructure, technology, media and telecoms, financial services and insurance, and metals and mining.
