Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the addition of partner Emil R. Infante into the firm’s global Financial Services Practice resident in Miami. He joins from a boutique law firm he started after serving as head of the Latin America Practice at Polsinelli.
Mr. Infante focuses his practice on finance, financial regulatory, and corporate matters, as well as litigation and tax. He has a diverse cross-border transactional practice which includes significant expertise in the alternative capital space as well as with securities and restructuring matters, international disputes, and family office services, principally for ultra-high net worth individuals in Latin America and South Florida.
He also has significant experience with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anti-corruption, anti-money laundering investigations and compliance with US and Latin American markets. He advises sovereign nations, foreign companies and family groups conducting business nationally, and in both Latin America and the Caribbean on complex corporate and financial matters. He has counseled clients in multiple international litigation and arbitration matters.
“Florida continues to emerge as a leading international finance hub and adding a colleague with Emil’s diverse transactional experience and local connections comes at an opportune time,” said James Barresi, global leader of the Financial Services Practice.
“Deepening our transactional practice in Miami is a strategic priority, and Emil does so while also enhancing our capabilities and relationships with Spanish as first-language clients in the Miami market and Latin America alike,” said Miami managing partner Andy Kruppa. “The diverse needs of his extensive client base across Latin America and the U.S. will also create cross-practice opportunities across a range of disciplines. We are excited he has joined the firm.”
Mr. Infante added, “I have longstanding personal and professional relationships with attorneys at Squire Patton Boggs for whom I have great respect. The firm has a long history of doing business in Miami, an established practice across Latin America and robust financial services, corporate, regulatory and disputes offerings that intersect the needs of my clients. All of these things made my decision to join the firm an easy one and I am excited to get to work with my new colleagues.”
