Osborne Clarke Italy has appointed data protection and privacy specialist Gianluigi Marino, as a Partner in its Digital Business (DB) team. Gianluigi is the fourth new Partner to join the Italian DB team since the start of the 2017, demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to investing in the sector. The latest appointment follows the arrival of Andrea Rizzi , who joined in May to lead the team, while only last week Andrea Bozza and Pierfilippo Capello joined to develop Osborne Clarke’s Entertainment and Sport practice.
Gianluigi has in-depth experience in internet law, privacy, outsourcing, information technology, ecommerce, manufacturers’ guarantees and consumer protection, responsibility of internet service providers, IP, patents, designs, trademarks and anticounterfeiting. He has consolidated experience in assisting clients in matters of data protection, data breaches, cybersecurity, and the revision of the relevant compliance programmes.
Since 2011, Gianluigi has worked in DLA Piper’s Milan-based Intellectual Property & Technology department, including secondment to Accenture to deal with consultancy and outsourcing agreements.
Riccardo Roversi, managing partner commented:
“Gianluigi’s arrival consolidates our data protection expertise, a sector that is of increasing strategic importance to our clients – not least because of the increasing number of attacks by hackers and the advent of GDPR. Being able to call on a lawyer with valuable in-house experience in a multi-national company such as Accenture will really add value for our clients”.
With the arrival of Gianluigi Marino the firm now has 19 Partners in Italy, with more than 60 professionals, lawyers and tax advisors.
